About Stemming Height

Stemming is used in blastholes to improve energy retention and confinement. An important aspect that determines the effectiveness is the stemming height, which can be calculated by using rules-of-thumb or through first selecting the appropriate Scaled Depth of Burial (SD) value. Our stemming height calculator requires an SD input to produce an appropriate value for stemming height.
