VOD monitors measure the velocity of detonation of an explosive as it fires in the blast hole, giving your mine or blasting operation a direct record of your explosives performance. VOD data shows whether the explosive detonated to specification under real in-hole conditions.
Your engineering team can use this data to verify product quality and troubleshoot poor blast results. It also gives you a measured baseline for refining charge design.
ERG Industrial supplies ShotTrack VoD recorders built for harsh site conditions. Browse the range below, or get in touch and we’ll help you match the right unit to your blast holes and testing requirements.

VOD Monitor
The ShotTrack VoD-610 is a full-range velocity-of-detonation recorder built to measure any blast hole, from 1 m columns to the deepest production shots. It offers up to 560 m of usable cable and 80-picosecond resolution, producing clean, accurate data on how the explosive performed in the hole. GPS-synchronised timing, Bluetooth connectivity, and control through the ShockAI App make it quick to set up and monitor, while the compact IP68 case withstands harsh site conditions.
| SINGLE-CHANNEL DESIGN | A single-channel time-domain reflectometer keeps setup and operation simple. |
|---|---|
| STANDARD CO-AXIAL CABLE | Uses inexpensive, readily available co-axial cable as the consumable and accommodates standard reel sizes. |
| 80-PICOSECOND RESOLUTION | The VoD-610’s next-generation timer chip produces accurate, clean detonation data. |
| UP TO 560 M USABLE CABLE | The VoD-610 measures everything from 1 m columns to the deepest production shots. |
| GPS-SYNCHRONISED TIMING | Results can be cross-referenced precisely against other blast monitoring data. |
| AUTOMATIC CABLE DETECTION AND ARMING | The unit detects the cable and arms itself 60 seconds after connection. You can also arm it by long-pressing the button or through the app. |
| BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY | Shows cable and armed status wirelessly, alongside a multi-LED status indicator on the unit. |
| SHOCKAI APP | Controls the recorder and supports on-site and office data downloads. |
| IP68 CASE | Waterproof and dustproof for harsh site conditions. |
| COMPACT BUILD | 133 mm in diameter, 36 mm high, and 450 g, so it is easy to carry to any site. |
| 10+ HOUR RUN TIME | Runs continuously for over 10 hours on a charge. |
| ELECTRONIC DETONATOR COMPLIANT | The VoD-610 is suitable for use with electronic initiation systems. |
| SET FEATURE | Visual indicators confirm when the unit is set and triggered. |
The ShotTrack VoD-125 is an upcoming velocity-of-detonation recorder designed for short-column product testing and blast trials. Its 400 kHz (or better) sampling rate resolves detonation behaviour over short columns in detail that longer-range recorders average out. It shares the same chassis as the wider VoD family, with GPS-synchronised timing, Bluetooth connectivity, and control through the ShockAI App.
| SINGLE-CHANNEL DESIGN | A single-channel time-domain reflectometer keeps setup and operation simple. |
|---|---|
| 400 KHZ SAMPLING | Samples at 400 kHz or better to resolve detonation behaviour over short columns. |
| 20-PICOSECOND RESOLUTION | Resolution of 20 picoseconds or better for accurate, detailed data. |
| UP TO 105 M USABLE CABLE | Supports cable lengths up to 125 m, with an initial dead zone covering the first 20 m. |
| STANDARD CO-AXIAL CABLE | Uses standard co-axial cable as the consumable. |
| GPS-SYNCHRONISED TIMING | Keeps results accurately time-referenced. |
| AUTOMATIC ARMING | The unit detects the cable and arms itself 60 seconds after connection. You can also arm it by long-pressing the button or through the app. |
| BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY | Shows Searching for Cable, Cable Connected, and Armed status wirelessly, alongside a multi-LED indicator on the unit. |
| SHOCKAI APP | Controls the recorder from a phone or tablet. |
| IP68 CASE | Waterproof and dustproof for harsh site conditions. |
| SHARED VOD CHASSIS | Built on the same chassis as the rest of the VoD family. |
| 10+ HOUR RUN TIME | Runs continuously for over 10 hours on a charge. |
